Since the last three decades, climate change issues and other environmental obstacles are threatening global mangrove ecosystem and is oriented towards the study on mangrove degradation along with conservational and regeneration policies and strategies. This study draws out the comprehensive insights on degradation and regeneration of tropical mangrove ecosystem, utilizing bibliometric analysis over 5197 published research documents from Scopus database for the last three decades. USA, Australia, China, India, Germany are the top five categorized countries on the basis of total citations achieved. Co-occurrence network of the most frequently used keywords focuses on "climate change," "ecosystem services," "mangrove forest," "deforestation," "biodiversity," "sustainable development” "land use change," "coastal zone," "satellite imagery," and "remote sensing" etc., primarily highlighted in leading journals like “Remote Sensing”, “Science of the Total Environment”, “Estuarine, Coastal and Shelf Science”, “Ocean and Coastal Management”, “Marine Pollution Bulletin”. Future trend analysis shows the probablistic analysis on “mangrove”, “mangroves”, “climate change”, “remote sensing”, “blue carbon”, “conservation”. Thematic evolution and mapping highlights "mangrove sediment" and "biodegradation" persisting in niche themes, while "climate change" and "carbon stock" have transitioned into central motor themes, reflecting a growing interdisciplinary focus in mangrove studies. This study paves the future research on drivers of mangrove degradation and pathways to regeneration, translating scientific insights into evidence-based policies. Emphasizing interdisciplinary collaboration, remote sensing applications, and stakeholder engagement is vital for sustainable mangrove management, restoration, and conservation at local to global scales.
